For nurseries and pre-schools offering funded hours

Is your funded hours page ready for parents, and for the council?

Since 1 April 2026, the Department for Education's statutory guidance asks nurseries offering funded hours to publish the cost of chargeable extras on their website, clearly and kept up to date. I build that page for you, from your existing fee sheet, and keep it right every term.

Most nurseries aren't there yet

In October 2026 I checked the websites of 120 nurseries across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and London. 81% of those I could assess didn't fully show their charges, how to opt out of extras, or how funded hours can be taken. Among independent nurseries it was 88%.

The most common gap: only about a third said clearly that extras are optional and how parents can opt out.

What the guidance asks for

Paragraph A1.40 of Early education and childcare says the costs of chargeable extras should be published on your website, clear, up to date and easy for parents to find, along with the patterns in which parents can take their funded hours. Charges must be voluntary, and some councils remind providers that funding can be withheld where the rules aren't followed.

Summarised from the GOV.UK statutory guidance. The guidance itself is the authoritative text.

What your pages will show

Each item links to the page in the demo nursery that handles it.

Why nurseries use me

Clear for parents

What each optional extra costs, that extras are optional, and how funded hours can be taken.

Done for you

Built from your existing fee sheet. No tech skills or extra work for your team.

Kept up to date

Prices change each term, and your pages change with them. If the guidance changes, I update the wording.

How it works

  1. 15-minute call. We look at your current website together and agree what's needed.
  2. Send your fee sheet. Whatever you have: a spreadsheet, a PDF or your parent handbook. I do the data entry.
  3. Check the draft. You get a draft within 10 working days, with two rounds of changes included.
  4. Go live. Added to your current website as a linked section, or as a standalone page like this demo.
  5. Stay current. Send me new prices each term and they're live within two working days.

Prices

More than one setting?

If you run two or more nurseries, each gets its own pages with its own prices. Get in touch for a group price.

Ask for a group price

Monthly plans run for a minimum of 3 months, then month to month with 30 days' notice. You own your content and prices.

Questions

Is this legal advice?

No. I build clear pages that follow the published guidance. You stay responsible for your own charging policy and for meeting your provider agreement with your council.

Do I need a new website?

No. The pages are added to your current website as a linked section, or hosted as a standalone page you link to.

The council has a template. Why not just use that?

You can. Many nurseries start with a template and never get round to keeping it current. I turn your fee sheet into clear pages, check them against the guidance, and update them every term so they stay right.

What if we charge in a way the guidance doesn't allow?

I'll flag anything that looks out of line so you can raise it with your council's early years team. I don't advise on your charging policy, but the pages will only ever show charges as optional.

Let's get your page sorted.
